About:

Located in a former bank vault beneath the city, The Potted Pig restaurant shares its passion for modern British food and wonderful gins through ever-changing, seasonal menus and the odd whole suckling pig!

Opened in 2011, The Potted Pig proudly serves a varied and constantly changing menu of modern British food with a few French and New-York grill inspired influences. The menus are based on food we love cooking and eating rather than a single concept, so you always get a taste of what excites us! We’ve forged great relationships with some of the finest independent and local suppliers so that we can deliver only the freshest, seasonal flavours to your plate.

Our wine and drinks menu has been carefully selected to match our menus and we carry an excellent range of independently sourced wines as well as a fantastic array of bottled lagers, ales and ciders. Don’t forget also to check out our extensive spirit range including an unrivalled choice of bespoke gin.

We’re proud to call Cardiff our home and so excited to welcome a new addition to the family—introducing our sister restaurant, Porro! If The Potted Pig is all booked up, we’ll try our best to fit you in but if it’s not possible why not come and visit us on Llandaff’s bustling High Street, or our site on Wellfield Road instead.

Behind the Scenes:

Long shifts in confined spaces made them determined to open their own restaurant. Their journey was driven by a love of good food and late evenings spent experimenting with strange ingredients in each others kitchens. With their business partners they finally opened The Potted Pig in 2011 after searching for the perfect venue for several years.
