1. Pre-authorisation
Due to an ever-increasing number of people not turning up to their bookings, we have had to adapt our bookings policy. To secure your booking, you will have to complete what is known as a ‘pre-authorisation’; in your confirmation e-mail we will ask you to provide your card details to secure the booking. Your booking will provisionally be held for 24 hours without card details, after which it will be deleted. You will not be charged when booking but you will be charged £15 per head if you fail to cancel your booking 24 hours before the booking time or do not turn up. This is not a deposit, and you will not be charged unless you fail to communicate a change in your bookings more than 24 hours in advance of the booking.

2. Cancellations
Should you wish to cancel or change your booking, we require at least 24 hours notice. If you are unable to contact us by telephone we ask that you send us an e-mail with your request and reason for cancelling. We will honour the timestamp received on the e-mail with regards to the 24-hour policy. We will of course try our best to accommodate any changes, but cannot guarantee all alterations. If you fail to notify us that you can no longer make your booking, or cancel within 24 hours of the start of your booking you will be charged £15 per person.

3. Allergies & Diet Requirements
If you or any of your guests have any allergies or dietary requirements, please inform us as soon as possible! Our menus tend to incorporate garlic and onion across many of the dishes. If you are allergic to those, or have any questions about your allergies, please e-mail us at info@ThePottedPig.com so we can discuss your options. Dishes on our menu change daily, and we incorporate our allergy notifications into the menu on the morning of service. If you only notify us on your arrival, we may not be able to guarantee a suitable option for you. We ask that you please advise staff of any allergies. While the menu does not list all ingredients, the management team can provide you with a menu detailed to your needs (as long as enough notice has been given).

4. Table Duration
Unless stated otherwise, your booking duration will be for two hours from the initial time of the booking. In most cases we will require the table back at that given time. While our team will try their best to accommodate a full three-course meal, please ensure you are on time to allow for the full experience. If you or any of the party members are late for the booking, we may be required to limit your experience to two courses or even one.

5a. Lunch Menu
Please be aware that on Saturdays, Sundays, and any days during which a major event takes place within Cardiff, we will not be running our lunch menu offering. If you are explicitly booking for the set lunch, please specify when booking to avoid disappointment. Management team reserve the right to revoke the lunch menu offering at any time.

5b. Children’s Menu
Unfortunately, we do not have a children’s menu. We love hosting you all, but we ask families to be mindful of other guests at all times and for this reason we reserve our evening service for adults only.

5c. Major Event Days
For large events, such as rugby games, music concerts, Beaujolais, and the entirety of December we will most likely be running a specific menu, and in some cases will require you to pre-order your meal in advance of your booking. For specifics on our event menus, please see the relevant terms and conditions below, or contact us by phone or e-mail.

6. Outside Dining
We do not serve food on our outside tables. With sporadic weather, as well as other external factors such as seagulls, rubbish & overly loud music from neighbouring venues, we do not feel it is fair to charge the same prices for differing experiences.

7. Large Parties
You may have seen that we only accept online bookings of 6 people or less. With parties of 7 people or more we like to ensure that your experience (as well as ours) runs as smoothly as possible. For this reason, we only take these bookings by e-mail or over the phone, to ensure that you are aware of any changes that we apply to large tables. For tables over 10 we require a deposit of £15 per person rather than our usual pre-authorisation mentioned in section 1. PLEASE NOTE: If you make a reservation for 6 people or less and specify that you require 7 guests or more in the booking notes, we cannot guarantee to honour your reservation.

8. Deposits
Deposits can be paid over the phone by card or in the restaurant by cash or card. We do not accept BACS or bank transfers. Invoices and receipts can be provided if requested at the time the payment is made. Deposits will be deducted from the final bill or can be refunded to the card from which it was paid. For any member not attending who has not given 24 hours’ notice of this, the deposit for that person will be kept by the restaurant and not refunded.

9. Beaujolais Bookings
All parties, regardless of size, are to pre-order from the Beaujolais menu. We kindly ask pre-orders to be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the booking date in the spreadsheet format provided. We only offer three courses for the meal itself, if a party member wishes to eat a one course meal, the price for three courses will still be charged. Any dietary requirements must be submitted prior to your booking and noted on your pre-order booking sheet. An allergen menu is available upon request.

10. Christmas Bookings
All parties, regardless of size, are to pre-order from the Christmas menu. We kindly ask pre-orders to be submitted at least 1 week prior to the booking date in the spreadsheet format provided. We only offer three courses for the meal itself, if a party member wishes to eat a one course meal, the price for three courses will still be charged. Any dietary requirements must be submitted prior to your booking and noted on your pre-order booking sheet. An allergen menu is available upon request. Please be aware that the Christmas menu does not run on Sundays.

11. Feasting Menu
Upon request, we offer three different types of ‘Feasting Menu’; Suckling Pig, Rack of Lamb, and Rib of Beef. These menus are available when booking with a minimum of 3 weeks notice. Please contact us directly for more info.
12. Tips / Service Charge / Gratuity
A discretionary service charge of 10% will be added to all bills, where 100% of all tips go to our staff.
